UPGRADE TO SHEPPERTON MARINA MOORINGS
Thames Riverworks Piling Ltd have recently completed the refurbishment of Pontoon H in Basin B at Shepperton Marina. The works involved the installation of bankside protection in order to prevent further erosion in this area. Riverworks cut back the existing bank and installed galvanised steel piling to secure the bankline. Hardwood capping and waling provided an aesthetically pleasing finish to this newly installed steel. As part of this improvement project 10 metres long articulated floating finger pontoons were supplied by Walcon Marine Ltd and installed by Riverworks and a steel pile was driven at the end of each new pontoon to secure it in to position.
New electric pods and a wider tarmac pathway with a landscaped grassed area were improvements that were also included in this project.
This work benefited berthholders by providing an increased manoeuvrability area for craft on Pontoon H.
